10,000 Steps for Communities
The 10,000 Steps program has been successfully implemented in a variety of settings, including across whole communities. The original 10,000 Steps project (2001-3) was aimed at a whole of community approach to physical activity. The resources and programs now available on can be used separately (eg. library loan schemes, community walking challenges, walkway signage) or together across the community.

If you choose to use the 10,000 Steps resources, you are not alone! All the information and resources are provided on the website, including case studies from other communities, the opportunity for you to have your community page, discussion boards with other health professionals, as well as support from the 10,000 Steps project office!
